Betty's New Room

Betty has taken it upon herself to enjoy the room we have set up for our new addition. I came home the other day to find her under the sheets of the bed and when I turned around to look in the crib I noticed that all the stuffed toys that were in there had new homes around the house. She seems to think they belong to her.

I felt guilty hiding them from her, but I will be sure to give her a toy when the baby arrives.

From the photos above you can see that I have caught her in the act! Looks like she will have some growing up to do when her sibling arrives - I sense we may have a bit of a competition on our hands!!!

Baby Room

I kept saying that I wasn't going to get anything too babyish for the baby's room, but then I came across this wonderful vintage dressor at an antique store in Ladner. I just love it! It is from the 1920's and it has the orginal paint job. It fits well in the room and I just had to have it!

I also thought I'd post another photo of little Lilah, she was over the other day for a visit and christened my changing table! She sure is a cutie (I'm a proud Auntie!)

I'm an Aunty!!!

Well much to our surprise my brother's baby's mama's water broke 5 weeks early. Lila Ashely Rose Brennan was born on June 9th, 2007 at around 3pm. She only weighed in at about 4lbs 11oz so she is pretty tiny! I wanted to wait until I had a copy of one of her cute photos before I posted, but I will post one as soon as I get one!

She is still in hospital and will be until she gets her weight up and can keep her temperature nice and warm!

On a much sillier note, I decided myself to do an Alyson needs list google list. Not to many things came up, but here there are:

Alyson needs to stop the sister act, the Olsen twins already have that covered!
Alyson needs to be left alone and people should just let her do her job in peace!

That was it! It gave me a good chuckle though!

Rainy Days bring Sunny Flowers

I was spoiled today when Calli and Greg stopped by my work today. I got asked to go to the office and I wasn't sure why, and I have to say that the tone of the phone call I got didn't make it sound all that appealing! A beautiful bouquet of flowers and two great friends were there to greet me! A wonderful surprise if I do say so myself.

I love how colourful the gerbers are. A nice change to all this grey weather!

Simple things bring great pleasures!!

My New Knitting Bag

I have been meaning to share my new knitting bag for ages, but for some reason it has been difficult to upload my photos from my camera, or essentially I have been a wee bit lazy!

Andy's mum made me this knitting bag for my birthday. Not only was it something that I really needed, but it is so well made and absolutely beautiful! The handles were taken from one of Andy's grandma's knitting bags and inside it was filled with vintage knitting goodies. The buttons on the bag are also vintage and were collected over the years at various flea markets. So not only is it a great bag, but it has a lot of history to go along with it.

It is definately one of my new cherished treasures!

Twelve Weeks and Counting

Well believe it or not, Andy and I are officially starting a family. Betty has been such a great addition.......... why not add a baby to the mix!!!!

I am twelve weeks today and I am feeling better that I have been for the last few months that's for sure!

We are both really looking forward to the months (or years I suppose) ahead and preparing ourselves for the new addition.

We will be sad to see our oldest - Em leave the nest in June, but that will leave us lots of time to set up a babyroom!!! WOW life is going to be different. Change is a wonderful thing for all of us and it is still hard to believe that we are actually growing up! I don't think I will ever feel officially like an adult, but I think that's a good thing!

BETTY!

Once again it had been a really long time since I have graced my blog!!! Ooops! But I did think it was time to introduce our newest family member - BETTY! Andy and I chose her from the SPCA and she has been part of our family for a few months now. Yes, she looks very similar to our old cat Jasmine, and I am sure that is why we fell in love with her so quickly. She has a crazy personality and keeps us in stiches. I haven't had a kitten in so long I forgot how much energy they have!
