Easter Sunday

Andy and I are cooking our first easter dinner tonight for my parents! It is looking pretty good! Andy is in charge of the leg of lamb which he has marinated overnight, and he is also making home made dinner roles! YUM!!! My mum is bringing dessert, but I thought this was a great opportunity for me to try making a dessert! You can never have too many desserts! I decided on lemon meringue! Definately not to hard to make! I think it turned out pretty well! Baking can be a tricky task, but this was a snap!! Hopefully it will taste as yummy as it looks!

I was also in charge of doing the veggies for tonights meal! YUM YUM, I made this wonderful salad with tomatos, asparagus, basil, and goat cheese! It is such a great recipe! Looks great too! Red, green and white are such a refreshing colour combo when it comes to food!

After I did all my prep and cooking, I decided it was time to do something crafty! I have a magazine with photos of these wonderful pillows with button flowers on them so I decided to make some myself! It was a total experiment and it has been a really long time since I have had the sewing machine out, but I think they turned out well for my first attempt!

This was the one I made after dinner! It was a little more challenging since I was feeling extremely full!!! Dinner was great though!!! I am not to sure where these pillows are going to call home, but for now I have put them on my bed!

I hope that everyone's easter was as fulfilling as mine, filling being the key part of that word!!!!!

HAPPY EASTER!

Cool Sites and Nifty Swag!!!

I was checking out a new web magazine that Emma had posted on her flickr site called Spun! It is really cool and based out of Toronto. There was a link to a site that sells t-shirts, buttons, and tote bags with some great logos! These were a few that I really liked!!!

This one definately has a ring to it!!

For the hard core knitter, crocheter, and crafter in all of us!!

This one is very cute! These all could make great bumper stickers as well!

I believe the website is www.cafepress.com/craftster/. Have a browse and enjoy!

My Kitchen and my Granny

I can't remember whose blog I was looking at the other day, but they were mentioning how hard it can be to photograph a window sill!! So curiosity got the better of me and I thought I'd give a go! This was my attempt! Definately needed enough light as having the flash go off created nothing but glares

I then decided to photograph my sink area! I love having flowers in my buckets!! It makes dishwashing just a little bit brighter. I got the egg sign from my (sort of) Auntie as a lovely just because gift! I thought the red was a nice compliment to the black, white and yellow! Thanks for the sigh Auntie!!!

On a heavier note, my Granny sadly, but happily passed away on thursday! She will be missed greatly, but she has gone on to brighter pastures! I created a little blog for her with lots of her old photographs. The site is www.grannyhawkesworth.blogspot.com! I am fortunate to have lots of lovely things around my house that were hers, and hence remind me of her!!!

Now back to a lighter note, I am sooooooo excited about the new photo group I joined - The Unpretentious Gardener! It is perfect timing since I am just getting under way in my garden!!!
